How it works
The process behind Taticho

We are here to help!
-
Is Taticho safe?
Safety is our number one priority. All of our tutors undergo a thorough vetting process and are background checked before they can join our platform. Parents who request home tutoring sessions should always ensure adult supervision for the duration of the session.
In addition, when you approve of your child's tutoring session, we will send you the tutor name and photo for your records. You will also be notified when sessions have been completed.
For tutors, we strongly recommend to have an adult always present for tutoring lessons if the student is under the age of eighteen.

How do I know my tutor will be a good fit?
We use our matching algorithm and years of educational expertise to pair you with a tutor you’ll love based on your qualifications, learning style, similar backgrounds and a host of other factors.
All of our tutors undergo our tutor verification team’s thorough vetting process to determine their experience, ability and teaching styles as well as a background check.

How do I book a session?
After matching you with the perfect tutor who is also available at the time and place you want, you'll be able to immediately book this tutor and start the learning process.
You may alternatively receive a custom response where you still have to review the tutor and request the time you want to meet with them. You’ll see their background, experience, comments left by previous and current students in any case and then you click “book a session” on the tutor’s profile and let the learning begin!
-
How do I become a tutor?
Very easy! Simply click on the ‘Become a Tutor’ button in the banner at the top of the page (once it's live). From here, you register as a tutor and fill in all required prompts. We will also need a copy of your ID, CV and at least two references to complete your application. We will then send applicants e-mail with further instructions upon completing the registration.
Once all required information and documents are submitted your application will be under official review. When your application is approved, your profile becomes live and we will quickly start matching you with new students.

As a tutor, how much should I charge?
As a tutor with Taticho, you'll manage your whole tuition business and that includes how much you charge per hour. We do have some guidelines, though, to help you make the best out of the platform. Sessions vary in price depending on the level of study, subject selected and experience of the tutor.
Our best advice for setting your rate is to consider the guidelines above and then look at what other tutors in your area are charging. Have a look at their qualifications and experience to help deicde what a fair rate to charge for yourself would be. Please bear in mind that you must factor in your rate the commission we take (20%, also known as the platform fee) and your travel expenses for travelling to sessions within your usual travel radius. This should not be added on top except for in exceptional circumstances (such as when taking on students who are far beyond your usual travel radius) and you should always make sure you communicate this clearly with students.

Where do lessons take place?
You and your tutor will have full discretion when it comes to choosing the right venue for a tutoring session. Generally, tuition will take place at either the student’s or tutor’s home but Taticho strongly recommends holding sessions in public spaces, such as libraries, cafes or on university campuses.
You can set your own travel policy, which will be communicated to students on your profile page. If appropriate, you could also organise sessions in a public space such as a library or a coffee shop convenient to both you and the student.
